Friday [28 September 1900]
My dear Yeats
I have just scribled a rough draft of the scene I wrote to you about yesterday. I dare say you will be able to improve it — I hope so for of course it won’t do as it is.
The speech in which Grania describes to Diarmuid their life in the woods is the improvisation of the moment and is only intended to put you on the track of a little poem in prose which you will write beautifully.
I do not think much of writing across the table at each other, it results in superficial thinking and is only useful occasionally.
I will come down tomorrow Saturday. I shall arrive about 12 — you will have had time to go through the enclosed — and perhaps to rewrite it.
Always yours
George Moore
