LALEHAM HOUSE, STAINES.

Victoria St 92

[Monday, 4 December 1899]

Dear Fisher Unwin

The play is good I think and I should like to publish it:

  1. 15 percent
  2. Three years agreement
  3. The play to be printed at once and complete proof delivered within a fortnight.
  4. That the play be not published until a day or two before the performance in Dublin — Feb 19th
  5. That no copies be sold under the published price.
  6. That this right be limited to England and the colonies

I or Yeats will contribute a preface explaining why we retired from the London stage — why we regard the London conditions as hopeless etc.

Truly yours

George Moore

The setting of the type must be begun at once if I am to obtain American copyright.
