Dear Sir

I dictated a letter descriptive of my novel to your London representative. I am not sure now that I did wisely — for such descriptions convey little idea of the book. However this may be my description of Sister Teresa must have led you to think that there was no love interest. Instead of saying that the middle of the book is occupied with her spiritual difficulties I should have said that it was occupied with her efforts to forget the trouble of the flesh. This is one of the principal themes of the book.

Hoping that we may be able to arrange for the publication, I remain

Truly yours

George Moore
