My dear Miss Dixon

I do not think I can accept your kind invitation to lunch; but I will try to come and see you in the course of the afternoon. I have begun a new book!

I received your sister’s article and I thought it very good indeed. I put it in the hands of the editor who will, I have no doubt, publish it.

I am very glad to hear that you like the first chapter. I like it as well as anything I have done.
