Wednesday [28 March 1900]
Dear Nia,
I was glad to get your letter for I had been thinking of you and intending to write. I wanted to tell you that I am busy at Evelyn and am getting on rather well. I hope to get through the first writing by the summer and once I've got through the first writing the rest will be easy and agreeable. I want to tell you that I do not intend to put the book aside again until I finish it.
I don’t think I’ve anything else to say — Ah, yes, that I shall probably be in Paris in May and should like to see you there. But the exhibition will have begun and Paris will be odious. Still I shall go to France. I must go to see Monet; he made me promise many times to go to see him and now he is in England and comes to dine here and I have had to renew my promises.
I hope you will have a pleasant time in Rome and will write to me from there.
Always yours
George Moore
I got forty pounds for my description of my own funeral. "Cenerary Vanities" I call it.
