1900-01-23 to Thomas Fisher Unwin

Autograph letter signed, New York Public Library, 175 words

[Edited for paragraph breaks, capitalization, spelling and punctuation.]

92 Victoria Street

Tuesday [23 January 1900]

Dear Fisher Unwin,

It will cost about 2£ to print another 100 copies. Perhaps it would be as well to print 200 copies. If you will do this I will publish with you a book which I have by me — I once spoke to you about it. "Moods and Memories." It contains some of my most popular things. Then there is a book of essays coming along — the article will appear in the Fortnightly.

So now you have to decide if I am worth a five pound note — to print 200 copies according to the text I send you will not cost more — 2£ for shifting the type, 4£ for printing — well 6£ will cover the lot. Going for six pounds.

Truly yours

George Moore

I do hope that you won't refuse. The printing of the new second act was done in Pilgrim St., Unwin Brothers.
