Tuesday [5 June 1900]
My dear Hyde,
I received the book. It will be of great use to me and I am reading it and shall continue to read it till I finish the play. I hope to go into the country for a month to write the play. It ought not to take more for it is in an advanced state as you know.
But I am feverishly interested in my novel Sister Teresa which may be my best book. I am now rewriting it so my work is an immense joy. I wish it were in our own language. I never envied a man as I do you.
Thank you for telling them to send me the paper. Ah my dear friend you were born to do a certain work and when a man is born to do a thing it gets done.
As soon as I get Grania finished I must rewrite Evelyn Innes and when that is done I write my lecture. I have written to Major Pond and shall hear from him early next month. I'll let you know what he says. The title of my lecture is "The intellectual Bankruptcy of England."
I will send you Yeats’s poems and you will translate The Land of Heart’s Desire and see the League about the actors.
Always sincerely yours
George Moore
