Thursday night [23 November 1899]
Dear Fisher Unwin
It is no advantage to the author to publish a book at 10 percent royalty. Under these conditions I do not care to publish. I should have the bother of correcting the proofs.
But I will show you the play when I get a clean copy and if you like to you may be able to offer better terms. Some plays have had a large sale — it does not often happen but it has happened.
I asked at the beginning of the week a painter to dine with me on Saturday and he will talk art the whole evening. I think that we can find a more favourable occasion. All next week I am free.
Always truly yours
George Moore
