8 Kings Bench Walk, Temple

[Thursday] April 16th 1891

Dear Sir

I shall be glad to know if you would care to receive my articles for the Nineteenth Century. If you think my work [is] suitable it might [be] well to say at what rate you would pay for it.

Apart from this personal matter I will venture to ask you to consider an article by Mr. Arthur Symons on Verlaine. This great poet has been written about a good deal lately and in my opinion very ignorantly and inadequately. I have read Mr. Symons article and think it excellent in every respect. His criticism of the verse seems to me final and conclusive and his article includes a very well done record of the man’s life which is as remarkable as his work. I have no hesitation in recommending this article to you.

Very truly yours

George Moore
