1881-spring to Joseph Blake

Autograph letter signed, National Library of Ireland, 118 words

[Edited for paragraph breaks, capitalization, spelling and punctuation.]

Crichton Club, 3 Adelphi Terrace  17 Cecil St., Strand

[spring 1881]

My dear Joseph

I did not return you the accounts because I wished to ask you about some items. You put down 100£ as interest. This is impossible, that is to say, at a legitimate interest. You say, somewhat reproachfully, that the others ran on for years. Pray whose fault was that?

And what was the solicitor’s opinion of them?

Mind you I made no reproaches, I signed them. It is you and I think unjustly.

Yours truly

George Moore
